TRIED AND TRUE, SEND THE ANTS OUTSIDE

HOW TO BEST GET RID OF ANTS FROM YOUR HOMES?
I read in "Grass Roots" magazine, the Australian survivalists and experts in anything home-made one would have thought. In that magazine, someone said to keep ants out side, repelling them, NOT killing them, at the entranceways of where they come in, scatter some SALT, yes, SALT, there.
So, I tried it: the ants have not come back in, unless I clean the salt away and don't replace the salt.
Throw away the antkiller. Don't worry about huge expensive chemical ant-repellers and systemic poisons: salt repels the ants. These ants are the New Zealand type, harmless. They actually come in for food.
So, when you repel them with the salt, remember to go outside, and where you think their little nests are, scatter some sugar around, or some honey. Then, they have no worries about eating from your kitchen. Remember, they do like it at home, and it's not ours, it's their home in the garden, they do like to burrow under the ground in their nests. They don't actually SEEK to hurt, all they want is to store some food up in their nests, as their instinct tells them.
A rumour, true or untrue, says they only come in the day before it rains. If someone out there knows for certain, from observing that, I'd really like to know if it's true or untrue.
Buddhists: AND THE GENTLE-HEARTED: did you know about the salt that repels the ants?
In places that have fire-ants, OR other types of ants; people could you contact myself after trying the salt to replace them, to let myself know if it works?
Finally, I've found a wonderful website called GardenGuides.com. Wonderful, about gardens, flowers, and a wonderful way of meeting mostly very clean-living gardening enthusiasts and others, keeping in contact with nice people, and there's much in the way of blogging, and learning all types of gardening. Recommended, very highly.
